WARNING:these settings are for people who want to use Debian Etch (testing) sources. If you want to install something from Sid (unstable) you have to uncomment (delete # sign in front of the Sid lines), leave the Etch sources selected. However, installing from Sid is not recommended unless you know what you are doing, Mepis installs by default from Etch.

instead of:
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian etch main contrib non-free
Alternative Sources list: If you are comfortable with apt-get and understand how your sources work, you may want to add some of these additional repositories for non-Debian packages.
