Listing your hardware configuration

  • One place to get information about your hardware is Kinfocenter, type kinfocenter in Run Command or Konsole, or go to K Menu -> System -> Info Center
  • You can get better information with other programs:
    • lshw (as root), see this page for details.
      • There is a GUI available as well, download and install lshw-gtk
    • hwinfo (as root) - man page
    • inxi - a powerful script with many options
  • You can direct the output of these tools as a text or html file, for instance 
lshw -html > /home/username/Documents/hwlist.html
