Minimum requirements for SimplyMEPIS-64 6.5
- 3 GB free space on the hard disk
- 192 MB RAM
- Processors supported by SimplyMepis64
Minimum requirements for SimplyMEPIS-32 6.0 and 6.5
- 2.5 GB free space on the hard disk
- 128 MB RAM
- Pentium II/Athlon CPU
- Installing MEPIS on old hardware
Better configuration
- 4 GB free space on the hard disk
- 512 MB RAM
Preferred configuration
- 10 GB free space on the hard disk for root/system
- 10 GB or more on the hard disk for home/user
- 512 MB RAM or more
Additional requirements for experimental 3D/Beryl desktop
- NVIDIA graphics card with official NVIDIA driver, or
- ATI graphics card with xorg radeon driver*, or
- Intel graphics card with xorg driver
*currently the ATI official fglrx driver is not compatible with 3D/Beryl
Minimum requirements for MEPISLite
- 2.0 GB free space on the hard disk
- 128 MB RAM*
- Pentium II/AMD CPU
*it is known to work on systems with less than 128MB. However, you should expect poor performance and it is recommended you use a light Desktop Manager, e.g., Fluxbox.
Minimum requirements for antiX-M7 series
- 1.3 GB free space on the hard disk
- 64 MB RAM plus swap
- Pentium II CPU (Does not boot with AMD K5/K6)
Preferred configuration
- 2 GB free space on the hard disk
- 128 MB RAM
