Nov 10, 2010, 10AM EST -- The first Alpha grade release of SimplyMEPIS 11.0 has been uploaded to the MEPIS master site. It is available for immediate download by MEPIS subscribers. The global ISO mirrors should make the files available to the general public within 24 hours.

The names of the ISOs are: SimplyMEPIS-CD_10.9.70_32.iso and SimplyMEPIS-CD_10.9.70_64.iso Although they are called "CD" ISOs, they are about 800 MB in size and will fit on DVD or USB media. They will not fit on CD media.

At this time, 11.0 is closely aligned with Debian Squeeze but with a 2.6.36 kernel. This release provides a KDE 4.4.5 desktop.
