I have worked in the industry as a consultant and programmer for too many years to want to think about it (but it's over 30!). A lot of my work was done with Berkely and SCO Unix, so when I got a computer for home use I used SCO, but I had multi-boot as there were things in Windows I was familiar with, and needed to use. But some 18 months ago I took the plunge and went to Mepis Linux. It's simply fantastic.
But the point of this post - I have finally got around to looking in depth at some of the KDE utilities in depth. Many stand out as extremely good, and I no longer have those massive manuals that give the options for cpand so on, in fact I just put 18 inches of manuals in the re-cycling.
But to the point of this post - AMAROK. It's truly an amazing piece of programming. I think I was pretty good at what I did, but if I had ever written anything like this, I would have been proud indeed, and doubled my rates!
Why anyone would want to pay for Micro**** when there's functions like this in Linux depresses me as to the human condition. Truly beautiful programming, thankyou for a wonderful product.
